Let's see - King (Nokia) will sit on throne or not

Hi folks, hope you have heard a good message, but it is probably for Nokia fans (still there are millions in India and in other countries). The news is, Nokia( smartphone)  is coming back to the phone market. Yes, you have heard a right thing but till now the date is not mentioned. It is true that Nokia is returning to the market, which will be powered by Android and most probably will come in first half of 2017.

Further, along with Android, now Nokia smartphones will utilize Google's Android operating system, currently deployed on 86 percent of the world's smartphones, said a Nokia spokesperson.

Nokia has been a respectable company. They didn’t do anything wrong in their business, however, the world changed too fast. Their opponents were too powerful. Even, in the press conference in March 2016  Nokia CEO, Stephen Elop ended his speech saying, “we didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”. Upon saying that, all his management team, himself included, teared sadly.

That time Nokia missed out on learning & changing, therefore, Nokia is returning with new learning from its experience and one of the great change in the OS, which is an Android based (which will have elegant simplicity, trusted reliability & lasting quality)

Nokia

Nokia Spokesperson said, we are unlocking a new and extraordinary possibilities for billions of people. And we're just getting started, with new smartphones coming in 2017 (no other details were shared).

Enter HMD- The Home of Nokia Phones

HMD (a Finland-based company), will create the new story of Nokia Phones in the coming Year (2017). HMD will bring the new generation of Nokia Phones in the android.  It said that the launch of HMD, the company behind new Nokia-branded phones, comes just six months after the company signed a strategic licensing agreement with Nokia, giving HMD exclusive use of the Nokia brand of mobile phones and tablets worldwide for the next 10 years.

The HMD Global team is headed by CEO Arto Nummela and President Florian Seiche. Together, they will forge a new chapter in the story of Nokia mobile phones with the support of an experienced leadership team made up of talent across multiple markets.

"Today marks a happy and important day for HMD. Nokia has been one of the most iconic and recognizable phone brands globally for decades. The excitement of re-introducing this much-loved, well-known and trusted the brand to smartphone consumers is a responsibility and an ambition that everyone at HMD shares."

"Driven by the extremely positive reception we have received since HMD was announced earlier this year, we are excited about building the next chapter for Nokia phones. We see this as a brilliant opportunity to solve real-life consumer problems and to deliver on the quality and designs that the Nokia brand has been always known for. Our talented and passionate team is uniquely placed in this modern setup to deliver our promise of reliable, beautifully crafted and fun Nokia phones for consumers across the globe."

However, few of the details are already leaked that upcoming phones are Android even there is the rumour that the phone will be called as D1C (not disclosed by the Nokia).

Enter Foxconn-

Foxconn will make Nokia phones.

Let’s precise  - Hands which are behind & will  bring the new generation’s Nokia Phones.

  1. HMD - The Phone will be sold by HMD. It is the Finland-based company. This company had earlier acquired rights to use the Nokia brand from Microsoft.
  2. Foxconn- The another company is Foxconn. Foxconn will make Nokia phones. It also has acquired a former Nokia factory from Microsoft.

Meet Nokia D1C

Even, till now, it is not clear what sort of smartphones Nokia will launch. But it is expected that the company will introduce a mid-range to start.

Sources said Nokia will have two variants. The high-end version will get a 5.5-inch display with 1080P resolution and a 16MP rear camera.  It will likely use a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 430 and have 3GB RAM and 16GB storage.  While, the second variant will possibly come with a similar chipset. But it will have a smaller 5-inch display (with same 1080p resolution), 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The device will also have a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. (we can expect more details to be available).

Time tells its own story. In the year 2013 , that was the time when Microsoft bought Nokia's mobile business  and now in the coming year, the year 2017, Nokia is returning to the phone market.  Although, It is not possible for Nokia to convince it’s old customer to shift. But, yes- this time Nokia can work upon the new customer in  the market  with competitive strategies.
